The Worshipful Company of International Bankers have signalled their backing for the Commission’s work to tackle the sector’s skills challenges.

At a meeting in the City of London, livery Master Tim Skeet – who is also Chief Relationship Officer at our member firm Bank of China – presented a letter of support to our chair, Mark Hoban.

Mark provided an overview of the Commission’s extensive work programme, including our research projects on behalf of HM Treasury, and the Financial Services Skills Compact.

They also discussed the role of industry leaders in prioritising upskilling, the importance of creating routes into the sector for young talent, and the need for culture of learning. Tim and Mark were joined by our Programme Director Gregg Hutchings, George Littlejohn, plus other sector colleagues.

We’re looking forward to continuing a productive working relationship with the livery in the years ahead.
