UK-based financial services company Admiral has strengthened its commitment to developing talent by joining the Financial Services Skills Commission.

The Commission is an independent, non-partisan, member-led body, representing the UK financial services sector on skills. The organisation works directly with the sector and advocates for innovative collaboration to ensure that businesses have the talent and skills they need for the future.

Admiral’s commitment to the future of its colleagues comes from its focus on ‘The Team, The Team, The Team’. With a strong history of internal mobility and nurturing an environment for colleagues to Grow & Progress, Admiral has been consistently recognised as a Great Place to Work for over 20 years.

Admiral will become ‘founder’ members; the Commission’s highest level of corporate membership. They will contribute to the Commission’s working groups to drive change on the sector’s skill gaps, and develop an approach that supports more reskilling, motivating learning, upskilling and attracting talent.

The firm will also join the Commission’s board, meaning it will directly inform the body’s strategy and operations.

Matt Wintle, Head of Talent Acquisition and Development at Admiral, said: “We’re thrilled to join the Financial Services Skills Commission and gain access to valuable insights, research, and best practices that inform our strategic workforce planning and development initiatives. This collaboration ensures our workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to drive sustainable growth within our business, and as part of the wider financial services industry.”

Claire Tunley, Chief Executive of the Financial Services Skills Commission, said: “Admiral has a clear commitment to nurturing internal talent, and upskilling its own people, to build a workforce fit for the future. As one of the best-known names in the UK insurance market, they will bring invaluable sector knowledge and experience to our board and work streams. I’m looking forward to working Matt and the Admiral team as we seek to address the skills gap in financial services sector.”
